In the upcoming election, there is no more important nor more hotley a contested race than the office of Coweta County Solicitor General.  As attorneys and officers of the Court, we the undersigned have dedicated our careers to protecting the rights of individuals as envisioned by the founding fathers and guaranteed by the Constitution .  We are ever mindful that to the average citizen, the judicial process can become a frightening freefall into an abyss controlled by unaccountable bureaucrats.

Ordinary citizens are more likely to have an encounter with the criminal judicial process via the State Court than any other tribunal.  As Solicitor-General, Robert Stokely is charged with the responsibility of enforcing the state law and prosecuting members of the very constituency which entrusts the office to him.

Those of us who deal with Robert on a daily basis in an ever vigilant task of protecting and preserving the very freedom many have fought and died for, can truly appreciate the honor he brings to his office.

Too often, and unfortunately almost universally, prosecutors tend to fall into lock step with police officers and Judges without even so much as a nod to the concept of innocence.  Robert uniquely brings to the office not only a complete understanding of the law but  also the compassion to temper it's application when necessary as envisioned by the founders of this country.

In this very important race, it has been bandied about that Robert does not get along with Police officers nor Attorneys in a context wrongfully suggesting that he is unqualified for the office.  The holder of a political office depends upon his constituency to remain in office and the Coweta County Solicitor General's Office handles literally hundreds of thousands of cases a year.  Robert is charged with leading the prosecutions against many of those who have elected him to the office.  His actions should not be distorted for the sake of politics.  The very fact that there are conflicts at times with both sides of the judicial process serves as testament that Robert does not pander to either side.  He simply does what he believes to be right and just under each individual circumstance.  He neither wields  the sword of justice blindly nor does he retreat behind its shield.  He is in fact the embodiment of the law wisely tempered and humanized to effect the ends of justice and humanity.

The Georgia State Motto, emblazoned upon pillars on the State Seal is "Wisdom, Justice, Moderation". Robert Stokely  embraces all three pillars.  We, the undersigned, proudly support his candidacy for reelection to this most crucial office.
